Visualize your business growth

The power of visualization is extremely important to the success of your business.

When you first started in business did you visualize how it would look? What
pictures did you conjure up in your mind?

I remember clearly in year 8 at school we were learning business studies. The
teacher asked us to draw a business that we could see ourselves running if we
had the opportunity. I drew a picture of this big building and on the front was a big
sign “Shorty’s Gym”. At the age of 15 I had this picture of owning a gym. I think it
was more of an unconscious thought. Sure enough, 10years later, there I had it. A
gym that I owned (wasn’t called Shorty’s gym, but it was my own – which I sold in
2008)

The power of visualization is extremely important to the success of your business.
So often I hear, “I don’t have time for that” or “I’m too busy for that” from business
owners stopping to picture what they actually want to create.

However, I bet you (metaphorically) that when you first started your business, you
had a clear picture of what you wanted to create? Where is that picture now? Is it
still alive and kicking, slightly blurred, or completely washed away?

Let’s take visualization to a personal level. Can you remember the time you bought
your last car? Remember driving away from the dealer or the previous owner and
next minute you find yourself surrounded by similar models and makes of the
very same car. Where did they all come from? They were always there, but your
attention, focus had changed. Your visualization re-adjusted to what you where

focused on.

Remember those NIKE advertisements, with Michael Jordan, how Jordan talks
about the power of visualization. That how he spends countless hours just
visualizing shooting those baskets.

So why should achieving our business goals be any different?

All is required is to think, picture, create a mental image of where you see your
business next month, next quarter, next year, next five years. Create a crystal clear
picture and ask yourself, what does it look like? who is in the picture? what clients
are we dealing with? what does the bank account look like? what does our team
look like?

Visualize your business growth and the get clear on what you want to achieve. The
power of visualization is extremely important to the success of your business.
